Automated Re-Stock Alerts for Sold-Out Items

Description:
Current System: Currently, if a customer is interested in an item that is sold out, they must manually check back on the website or contact customer support to find out if the item is back in stock. This process can be frustrating and might lead to lost sales opportunities as customers may forget to check back or choose a competitor’s product instead.
Suggested Improvement: Implement a feature that allows customers to subscribe to re-stock alerts for specific items directly through the chat interface. When a customer expresses interest in a sold-out item, they can opt-in to receive a notification when the item is available again. This notification should be delivered via their preferred method of communication (e.g., WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger).

Currently, there isn’t a way to directly import data via a webhook when a website button like "I am interested in this upcoming product" or "Notify me when this is back in stock" is clicked. To enhance this, we need to explore how to capture that information from Shopify when such buttons are clicked and use it to automatically segment customers for targeted broadcasts.
For instance, when an item is back in stock, customers in the relevant segment could immediately be notified via an automated broadcast. Ideally, this process could also be fully automated by syncing with Shopify to detect when a product is restocked.
There are Shopify apps like Back in Stock by Booster Apps or Back in Stock by Appikon that support sending restock information. We could potentially explore integrating our system with one of these apps to streamline the workflow.
